13 Sweet Looking Sites Powered by Headway (but Mainly Me Rambling About Headway)

Battle of the Biggies

Slide over and make room for HEADWAY!

headway home page1 13 Sweet Looking Sites Powered by Headway (but Mainly Me Rambling About Headway)

In the ongoing race between the 3 premium WordPress theme titans – HeadwayThesis and Genesis – Headway, in my opinion, has managed to drastically differentiate itself from the others making it the preferred choice for many. Not to say that Thesis and Genesis don’t have their own awesome perks, loyal followers and claims to fame – for they certainly do and more. They’re both unbelievable themes/frameworks in every aspect and come highly recommended from all sides of the blogosphere.

I know Thesis is an all time favorite for many A-list bloggers and I can totally see why. Heck, I was pretty much set on purchasing Thesis until I came to terms with how CSS challenged (CSS being the operative word here) I really am. That’s when a cool blogger pal of mine, Mars Dorian, suggested I check out Headway.

I watched a few idiot proof tutorials from Danny Brown and others and BAM! That was that.

Why I Want to be Powered by Headway (From A Non-Coder’s Perspective)

I’m going with Headway for 2 (of many) obvious reasons.

1. Easier to customize and play around with

Headway is the only theme to have the Visual Layout Editor; a simple and intuitive drag and drop method of customization with minimal if any CSS/HTML/PHP coding. You can actually build the exact site you have in mind, without having to know any kind of programming or design codes. Plus, you get to see the changes as you’re making them.

Whether you’re a newbie or a professional developer, Headway has some killer features for you, including a Quick Start Wizard, Strong Built-in SEO, Easy Hooks, Leaf Templates, Free and Automatic Updates, Extensive and Easy to Follow Documentation and Video Tutorials and a heck of a lot more.

You see, as I previously mentioned, I’m what you call a “technically (coding wise) challenged but otherwise intelligent (very) individual”. So when I came across these super benefits as well as the overall simplicity factor, I was pretty much sold and hooked from the getgo. I was also up till 6 am toying with the darn thing – 2 nights in a row!

Two words: Frikin’ Awesome!

2. Top notch support and customer service

Headway has an active online community and customer service that is as present and hands-on as the Interpol! Okay, maybe a poor analogy, but you get what I mean. All you need to do is mention Headway on Twitter (with or without the #) and POOF – the friendly genie that is Grant Griffiths (Co-Founder of Headway) or another of his many dedicated team members magically appear to assist and advise. And if you don’t believe me, ask my blogger friend and distinguished entrepreneur, Olin Hyde, who also recently went with Headway.

Now, when I say POOF, I’m not simply talking post-purchase. I hadn’t even bought the theme yet when “Super Grant” came into contact with me. All I did was merely imply that I was interested and he was just as willing and available to answer any questions I had.

You may be thinking, “of course they’re gonna’ help and pamper you, they want you to buy their product.” Well, you know what? It worked and good for them! Who the hell doesn’t like to be well taken care of? Talk about promptness and efficiency; Headway has just redefined the meaning of superior customer service in my book. Actually, they should write an eBook on the subject and send it to all the TeleCom companies out there – for free, with a repetitive message that reads, “please hold, the next available download will be with you shortly.” Just a thought :).

logo icon 13 Sweet Looking Sites Powered by Headway (but Mainly Me Rambling About Headway)“If you’re CSS/PHP challenged like me…AND you don’t have the time or patience to learn coding… AND you don’t plan on having your blog designed by a tech-savvy webbie… BUT you want an awesome lookin’ site…Then Headway is the right framework for you.”

What Headway and a Famous Country Singer Have in Common

Uhh…not much. But here’s how I’m bringing them one step closer.

They say that in order to succeed in Marketing and business in general, “you either have to be first, best or different”. Actually, this quote is accredited to country singer Loretta Lynn. And I don’t care how funny she talks, she’s spot on! Take your pick, cause Headway fits any one of those 3 adjectives.

Me Persuading You that My Rambling is Useful and Entertaining

Alright, I’ve gotten a bit carried away. I know. I often tend to do that ;).

This post WAS NOT intended to be about me and why I chose Headway Themes. Although so far it has been. In all honesty, the thought of writing about my experience with Headway once I’m all set up, is lurking in the back of my brain – even though I’ve pretty much covered a good chunk of if here. Mind you, all this talk and I still haven’t properly learned to master it nor has my blog been upgraded to Headway – YET. Not because I don’t want to, quite the contrary; I’m so excited to have a kick-ass looking site (to match my content), that I’m considering hiring a creative pro to help me get my theme, style, look and feel just right for nittyGriddy!

This post IS, sorry, I mean WAS SUPPOSED TO BE simply what the title implies – a showcase of some sweet looking sites and blogs that were designed using the awesome Headway Premium WordPress Theme. So, without further ado and blah blah (I’m officially coining this phrase since I pretty much use it in every other post), I present you with 13 rockin’ Headway’ers; from the wildly creative to the simple and classy.

Damn It, I Lied! I’m Not Presenting Diddly Yet, There’s More Further Ado and Blah Blah

While surfing the net to find my top 13, I came across 4 very helpful sources – amongst many others.
  • The 1st is Owen Greaves, who lists over 200 links to sites that have been designed using Headway (and yes, I went through 95% of them).
  • The 2nd is AJ Morris, who displays his 10 favorite Headway sites.
  • The 3rd is Cats Who Blog, who showcase their top 10 Headway theme customizations.
  • And last but certainly not least, is Rent a Geek Mom (aka Caitlin), a creative web designer with a vast portfolio of Headway powered sites & blogs. Actually, a few of the Headway sites that caught my eye were created by this Geekalicious mom.

Teeny Discovery About Rent A Geek Mom and Me Being Slow…er than Usual

Immediately after writing the previous paragraph, I went ahead and contacted Caitlin to inquire about her “geek to the rescue” type packages. I then proceeded to tweet @GrantGriffiths telling him I sent @RentAGeekMom an email to see about her services since she seemed to specialize in Headway. Part of my exact words to Grant: “she has some “A++ rockin’ #headwaywp web design skills.” As if I was informing him of something he didn’t already know. Well, it seems I may have made a public ass of myself on Twitter for not putting 2+2 together and realizing that Mrs. MommyGeek is actually part of the awesome Headway Team. I guess the odes, posts and banners plastered around her site should have been a dead giveaway. Obviously, they somehow flew right over my head.

Turns out, Caitlin even wrote some documentation for Headway’s latest 2.0 version which was released only days ago. I really hope she mistakenly deletes or blindly zaps the part of my email where I idiotically suggest to provide her with my new downloaded version of the theme if she were to need it – if all worked out and we were to work together, that is.  Please God, let her not think I”m a complete ditz who simply thought she was the most loyal, devoted, enthusiastic, fanatical, Headway cheerleader. Actually, with this post, it kinda seems like I may have joined that cheerleading squad myself :).

If I Don’t Show the Sweet Designs Now, My Readers Will Personally Show Me THEIR Top 13 Kick-Ass Martial Artistic Moves

Come to think of it, this article really should have been entitled “Random & Endless Ramblings and Musings about Headway” since that’s what this is. But because I’ve gotten you to read this far, I may as well show you the 13 good lookin’ designs I was suppose to moons ago. But one thing you can’t hate me for, at least I hope, is that I managed to write a rather original and not so dull and monotonous post. Yes, that would be me tooting my own horn ;).

Final Note: I decided not to include the personal Headway blogs to some of my favorite A-list bloggers – Danny Brown, Chris Garrett, RemarkaBlogger, Jim Connolly and John Haydon. Not because their sites don’t rock, for they sure as heck do and then some! But because they’ve been used quite often as examples and are already extremely popular. But you should most definitely check them out for yourself.

On another note, I used this fabulous little Firefox add-on called Screengrab! to capture the home pages with one simple click.

Phewww…it’s finally your turn to share. What other great looking Headway sites did I miss? Feel free to add a link to your Headway site.

Link Luv – Weekly Roundup #2

extra Link Luv Weekly Roundup #2Hello Dear nittyGriddy’ers,

Yeah, that doesn’t really sound right does it? Hmmm…well, at least I tried! Don’t make fun! The name nittyGriddy doesn’t give me much room to work with, okay?! Mashable has it easy with Mashers, TechCrunch with Crunchers, Boing Boing with Boingers, CopyBlogger with…oooh tough one…CopyBloggers! Needless to say, I just made all these up. But you get my meaning. So, a little compassion for my sudden lack of creativity would be nice, thank you ;). Either that or here’s a thought…you suggest another option for me!

Alright, give me some Link Luv now!

Welcome to the second week of “SuperPost Sunday!” Damn it! That’s not the name I originally gave this weekly series. Okay people. It seems I seriously need your help today. I am the most indecisive person I know and therefore am gonna’ need you to vote on a name for my weekly roundup. I’m giving you 3 + 1 options (I started with 6 – yikes!) below and I’ll go with the most popular one. Or, what is most likely to happen, is that I’ll find a way to use both (mix & match) because if you recall from last Sunday’s weekly roundup, I said a little something about being spoiled and that… “if I have a choice, and cannot choose, I choose them all.”

So here goes. What do you think I should I name my weekly series?

  1. Link Luv – Weekly Roundup (same as now – cause I luv the Link Luv thing)
  2. SuperPost Sunday (get it, get it? Superbowl Sunday!)
  3. OR…and my most probable option. I keep the name as it is now, but occasionally slip in “SuperPost Sunday” inside the post. That way I get the best of both :).
  4. All 3 options suck! Find another one! (As if I would believe you)

Post your choices and comments!

Well, until you come up with a winner (or I do my mixing thing), I may as well share this week’s roundup of fabulous articles on everything and anything that I’ve come across that is Social Media, Blogging Tips, SEO, Internet Marketing, Traffic Building, Online Money Making Tools and more. This is a great roundup, so take the time to read as many of these A+ articles as you can.

But first on the agenda is a new feature called New Social Networking Sites that nittyGriddy Recently Joined

These are sites I recently registered for that are mainly targeted at bloggers. I’m actually borrowing this brilliant little idea of adding new sites I’ve joined from blogger friend Michele Welch over at NewBizBlogger.com. And yes, I asked her first! Thank you Michele :).

If you’re not familiar with Michele or her popular blog, then I suggest you head over there asap and check out some of the fantastic online business tips she has to share.  WAIT!!! I didn’t mean right this second. I meant after you’ve read all the goodies that I have for you. THEN, you may go see Mrs. NewBizBlogger :).

I was going to tell you a little bit about each of these sites, but I would much prefer and insist for that matter, that you go and check them out for yourself. If you’re a blogger and are not a member of these 3, I strongly recommend that you become one.

Social Media

Increase the value of social media by playing to the strengths of each platform. A good online presence engages an audience by giving them what they want, when they want with as little distraction as possible. Put another way: We love signal and hate noise…

A couple of weeks ago, I promised to write about the additional social media trends I’m seeing for 2011. If you missed the first four (content, FTC rulings, net neutrality, and customer engagement) you can…

The headline in yesterday’s New York Times business section was instantly exciting: “Kleiner Perkins and Partners Create $250 Million ‘Social’ Fund.” Another progressive venture fund, this one driven by social justice rather than…

To say that I’m a huge fan of quotes is a massive understatement. But then again, who isn’t? I’m willing to bet that 8 (5 is too little, 6 doesn’t sound right and 7 is too popular) out of 10 offices have either a framed poster, a paper weight…

Guest Blogging

If you run a blog and want it to grow by hundreds and thousands of readers, you’re eventually going to want to guest blog. It’s not only an excellent way, but pretty much the only way to get quality inbound links and build…

It appears that the sphere has been talking a lot about guest posting these days. Why not? It is the best of both worlds, for the guest blogger and the host, as there are many advantages by doing so. Problem is that there are people…

What’s smarter? Putting all your eggs into your own blog basket or placing a few real fine blog posts on another person’s blog?  If you’ve pondered these thoughts, keep reading…

MishMash

Last week Jim Kukral surprised a lot of people announcing he was quitting blogging. His post sent a ripple through the socialsphere, some wondering if blogging had been killed in a world where Twitter and Facebook offer outlets…

Every blogger wants to be successful and happy, right? For new bloggers, it can seem like such an uphill battle to get visitors and comments on your blog. You spend so much time writing the perfect article, but…

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching the past 6 months or so, and have really come to a conclusion about business success. I’ve always been a believer in taking action, but like most of us, sometimes do not practice what I believe…

Today I want to talk about something that has been on my mind lately. I’m going to put a bold statement out there and say that the attention of the A-list is not what’s going to make you a successful blogger. I should know since…

I’ll admit it – I don’t like to say no. Whenever someone has a request, I’ll say yes where I can help it. Part of this is because I don’t like to leave people in the lurch. The other part comes from not wanting to disappoint others. And yet…

I am friends with almost 2,500 people on Facebook, and myFacebook page has around 340 fans. Yet today, I gave a guest post of mine exposure to an additional 90,000+ people by doing three simple things…

A little over a year ago, Brian Clark gave us a What Not to Wear guide to blogging. Brian laid the groundwork for the inherent value in talking about what’snot working. And if you haven’t read the post, clickity-click…

That’s all folks!

Same time, same place, next Sunday for another round of rockin’ posts from around the blogosphere. But don’t forget to stop by during the week as well, new posts are on the way!

Until then, Happy Frickin’ Halloween. Hope it’s a spooktacular one!

Cheers

Link Luv – Weekly Roundup #1

Weekly Roundup 1 Link Luv Weekly Roundup #1This is a new kind of post that I’m starting here at nittyGriddy as part of a weekly series known as the Weekly Roundup.

Every Sunday I will publish a post called “Link Luv – Weekly Roundup # X” – a wrap-up of links and snippets of 10 or so kick-ass articles from around the blogosphere. In general, they will have been published within that week – but, that’s not to say that I won’t include older one’s that I stumble upon. After all, blogging is about sharing so, “if I read it and luv it, I’ll share it!”

These links will include articles pertaining to Social Media, Blogging Tips, SEO, Marketing, Traffic Building, Online Money Making Tools… and so forth. But that doesn’t mean there won’t also be occasional humorous or off-the-wall one’s!

I’m well aware that “weekly roundup’s” generally use the same image in every post. It’s almost like a kind of repeat advertising in order to ingrain the image/content association – in a Pavlovian sort of way. Does that even make sense to you? Because I totally know what I mean. Anyways, who cares…My point is, I’m not gonna’ do that – for now!

And here’s why IF YOU REALLY MUST KNOW…

  1. I get bored of seeing the same image over and over – except for my logo and my own reflection in the mirror – and even that one changes 😉
  2. I got so excited about starting this weekly series, that I’ve already compiled a plethora of uber cool images to last me a year
  3. I hate having to choose just one, when I can use them all (the downside to being a spoiled 30 something year old child)
  4. I’m just indecisive and can’t seem to pick one that I like best to use over and over – although I know I should
  5. Oh yeah, the most obvious reason of them all…”My Blog, My Rules!”
  6. But the real reason is: I fully intend to customize/design an image especially for nittyGriddy’s Weekly Roundup (soon)

Okay, enough of my rambling!

Here are the links to this week’s roundup. They are in no particular order and they’re all great reads!

One of the best sources of new traffic for your blog may already be lurking in the background, in the form of an old, forgotten, blog post. Even if your blog is just a few months old…

You’re house hunting. You ‘re excited! You arrive outside a possible new home. It looked good on paper…You get out of the car and walk up to the front door. Ermmmm… peeling paint, dead plants in cracked pots, dirty windows…

For a sector as forward-thinking as the fashion industry, the reluctance with which it has ventured into e-commerce and other digital platforms–particularly social media–is more than a little perplexing…

Unless you can get people to click your “Like” button, your Facebook strategy will be as limp and lifeless as Matt LeBlanc’s post-Friends career…

I’m not gonna beat around the bush. I’m simply not the ‘you follow me, I follow you’ kind of Twitter gal! If you like what you see and want to follow me, my tweets and blog, then by all means…

You have enough passion to melt the moon, and a burning desire to build a kick-ass online presence.  But you are confused: You don’t know what you stand for and what makes you unique…

Are you looking to get your blog highly ranked on Google? Would you like some tips to help your blog appear for specific keywords? If so, keep reading…

Last week I launched the manifesto 18 Months, 2 Blogs, Six Figures. I released the guide for free, with no opt-in or anything required. It’s simply a PDF download that is freely available to anyone who stops by…

Having a lot of comments on your blog has a lot of advantages including social proof, however, many people find it difficult to get comments on their blogs, this post will be listing 12 ways to get more comments…

Stories have the power to break hearts and break homes. They can start wars – or stop them. They can free prisoners or free nations. They turn water to wine and rags to riches. They’ve saved lives, spared hands and started revolutions…

Before I begin, let’s reset our clocks a little: 1. Nothing says “I’m a rock star” like spending 15 hours a day on twitter and blogging about blogs. 2. Best new pick-up line in a bar: ”Want to google my tumblr?” 3. Fact: iPad is the new Porsche…

Epicurious iPad App: Recipes for Life!

epicurious ipad Epicurious iPad App: Recipes for Life!I’m far from being the next Julia Child. Actually, I can’t cook to save my life. And by that I don’t mean that I’m a bad cook, I mean that I’m a NO cook! Alas, sad but true.

The simple reason for why I said Julia Child instead of going with a more recent culinary master like Martha Stewart, Wolfgang Puck, Jacques Pepin, Alain Ducasse, Jamie Oliver…is this:

Last November I watched the film Julie & Julia – you may have heard of it. It’s a contrast between the life of Julia Child during her early culinary career in Paris and Julie Powell – a young New Yorker who aspires to cook all 524 recipes in Child’s first cookbook in 365 days; a challenge that she chronicled in her blog that would in turn make her a published author. This movie is actually the first major motion picture based on a blog.

Only half-way through the movie, and I was already inspired! I couldn’t wait till the end to get started on my very own blog. I bet you expected me to say that I was all of a sudden inspired to cook! Well…maybe to at least learn a recipe or two. Long story short…in less than 24 hours, I had already set up nittyGriddy and written my first post.

And now that that story is out of the way, let’s move on to the actual purpose of this post which is: to tell you a little bit about the Epicurious application for the iPad.

epicurious for ipad Epicurious iPad App: Recipes for Life!

The Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List application from Conde Naste Digital is brought to us by the award-winning site, Epicurious.com. The newly updated iPad app is similar in features to its sister iPhone app but bigger and better. It includes over 30,000 mouth-watering recipes from popular magazines like Gourmet and Bon Apetit as well as from well known cookbooks, chefs and restaurants. This next-generation kitchen companion is the ideal stove-side partner.

Here are some other features that this yummilicious digital cookbook app offers:

  • You can browse recipe collections from weekend dinners and brunches to spring cocktails and desserts.
  • You can search food and drink recipes via keywords or filter your searches by what’s in your fridge, what’s in season, what’s healthy, what holiday it is…
  • You can add recipes to your favorites box as well as email them to friends or better yet, significant others if you’re trying to place a hint :)!
  • You have access to hundreds of thousands of ratings and reviews from Epicurious members.
  • You can add ingredients to your shopping lists and check them off as you find them in the store.
  • You can cook with the help of your kitchen-friendly iPad by following recipes step by step.
  • You have access to nutritional information for thousands of recipes.
  • You can constantly update the menus online.

I think this app is gonna’ give traditional cookbooks a run for their money. I’m on the verge of downloading it myself now just to see what recipe I can stare at the longest before I swipe the page to the nearest and easiest turkey and cheese sandwich – because THAT – I can actually make;)! Wait…I just discovered something! There’s a section aptly named “I Can Barely Cook” that will walk you through the simplest great tasting meals. I can’t believe they read my mind and included an entire section for kitchen-challenged, food-loving folks like me. What more could I ask for? It’s like ‘Cooking for Dummies’ ;).

Did I mention that Epicurious is free? The only thing you’ll have to pay for is your ingredients. So, all you food aficionados…download this app now if you haven’t already, get your iPad’s to the kitchen, get out your pots and pans and get started on an agreeable and delectable iCook session with the cook’s companion.

If you’d like to see how the Epicurious application works, then check out this quick demo from TiPb Apps.

So it seems that someone had enough ‘cojones’ to open an @alqaeda Twitter account and actually send out funny or rather disturbing tweets on a regular basis. Actually, the account was opened in 2007 – well before the giant micro-blogging site reached the popularity level that it enjoys today.

Needless to say that it’s obviously NOT Bin Laden himself nor one of his many homies. But the wanna’ be terrorist organization did use the infamous picture of the most wanted bearded man on earth in their profile and the bio is definitely one that would fit a man like Osama – “working to expel the infidels from the lands of the Faithful, unite Muslims and create a new Islamic caliphate.”

Osama - is that really you? Finally! We've turned over every rock looking for you!

And like any other person or company trying to promote itself on Twitter, the account also includes a link to their website.

The person behind the account has undoubtedly proven that they indeed do follow the news. I must admit that some of the tweets are quite witty and humorous with a touch of sarcasm, but then again…maybe in poor taste? I don’t know. I’m actually indecisive here on whether to laugh or not.  I’ve collected a few ridiculous tweets and shared them below. You can see more of them by clicking here.

Feel free to share your thoughts on these. Which tweets do you find funny? Which one’s are disturbing? Do you think this account is in poor taste or is it funny and should just be taken with a grain of salt? Post your comments.

Google Search Says “Facebook IS…”

Have you ever been so bored that you start searching random shit on Google? Please don’t say no, cause we both know that you have and that you just don’t wanna’ fess up! And if you really, truly, haven’t – then…I still don’t believe you!

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while since I actually did this a few weeks ago (damn, looks like I’ve been bored a few times recently), but as you can see, I only got around to writing about it now.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit how jaded and energy-less I was yesterday – yes, on a Saturday! I had absolutely no patience for going out or doing real work – you know, the kind that pays. So instead, I declared it to be “couch potato day with a little blogging on the side!” As for the blogging part of my day – I started typing in the names of a few Social Media networks on Google followed by the word “IS” and a space to see what comes up in the drop down list before hitting the search button. And interestingly enough this is what I got!

Huh, I guess my Saturday wasn’t completely useless after all ;)!

Enjoy…and as usual, feel free to voice your opinion in the comments.

The History of the iPhone

There’s no doubt that the iPhone has revolutionized the mobile industry or more precisely, the smartphone market. We’ve heard this line over and over but if you think about it, it’s true! Year after year, summer after summer, the brilliant Steve Jobs has managed to capture and retain an ever so loyal audience and customer base; many of whom are willing to spend hours waiting in line to own “the new iPhone” – the same day it comes out.

This past June, Apple sold over 1.5 million iPhone 4’s on launch day. Pretty impressive if you ask me!

On June 29, 2007 I was in Boston, MA. My father had asked me to join him there for a week to take my twin brothers (actually half-brothers) around and visit some schools – and since I had lived there for almost 9 years, what better person to play the city/college tour guide?!

We were on our way back to the hotel from a guided campus tour of Babson (I think) when I realized that today was the big day! To make a long story short, I got yelled at for popping an unexpected U-turn on the freeway to go back to Cingular (now AT&T) to get the much talked about iPhone. When I finally got to the counter, I was told it was locked and that it wouldn’t work abroad. So of course I ended up paying twice the price for it (for an unlocked version) a few weeks later in Lebanon.

Well, that was my trip down memory lane and my story with the first iPhone. And although I currently use Blackberry, I’m highly considering the iPhone 4 – even though my good friend at Google keeps trying to convince me to switch to an Android device ;).

But enough with the personal bla bla and back to the main attraction…

I came across this very recent and fantastic infographic by @shanesnow of Mashable about the history of the iPhone – from 2007 till today. Not only does it portray the various devices but also the global contexts in which each new generation was introduced.

Do you have any iPhone stories? Good or bad – feel free to share your own iPhone recollections in the comments :).

* Note: Just a small inaccuracy here - the war between Lebanon (the Hezbollah not the Lebanese army) and Israel was in the summer of 2006 not 2007. But this small fact has nothing to do with iPhone's and the fact that this is still an awesome infographic - regardless :)!

What to do When You Get Pulled Over: Chris Rock’s Video Tutorial

The title of this post alone, should tell you that this video is gonna’ lean towards the humorous side. But I bet you think that it’ll simply be a load of crap and laughs! I mean let’s face it…when was the last time you saw Chris Rock being serious about anything? I’ll tell you this much though, this comical interpretation of what to do and not to do when a cop pulls you over, is right on the money and may just keep you from getting your ass kicked!

Here’s the thing folks…when a police officer pulls you over, it’s not because they’re bored and want to make your life miserable, it’s most probably because you broke the law in some way or another. And 9 out of 10 times, you know exactly what you’ve done wrong, so there’s really no point in arguing. Just stay in your car, turn down the music, don’t make any sudden movements or reach for your glove box before the officer instructs you to, don’t start sweating, be polite or shut the F%#@ up and lastly…do as they say!

I lived in the US long enough to know, “never, ever contradict, bribe, belittle, be rude, name drop who you know, boast about who your daddy is or try to outrun a cop.” For crying out loud, it’s only common sense! Oh, but off the record…I’ve also lived in a few third world countries long enough to know that you could pretty much do all of the not-to-do’s above and get away with most ;). But that’s not the message I’m trying to spread here!

Here are the main things you want to remember the next time you get behind the wheel (according to Chris Rock):

  1. Obey the law
  2. Use common sense
  3. Stop immediately
  4. Turn that shit off
  5. Be polite
  6. Shut the fuck up
  7. Get a white friend
  8. Don’t ride with a mad woman

But don’t take my word for it. Go ahead and watch what this “Rock-in'” comedian has to say in this funny but accurate video. Strangely enough, it’s rather educational!
