nittyGriddy’s New Logo is Here :)

I’m very excited to share nittyGriddy’s new logo with you. I wanted an image that would reflect the name, personality and style of the site – something simple and alive; something fun that inspires credibility but without the ultra corporate look that a bank or insurance company would have; something with a detachable ‘nG‘ that can be used on its’ own – and that’s exactly what my awesome Graphic Designer friend TSAJ, came up with.

It has already been posted on the Facebook Fan Page and will very shortly be active on this site.

Also, in case you haven’t noticed, with the new logo, comes the new, normal writing style. As of now, nittyGriddy will start using capital letters where necessary. Although it’s been fun keeping the letters all equal and small, I believe it’s time for a new look.

Best Regards,

Griddy

Nintendo Classic Sells for $13,105 on eBay

Today, the best, most high-tech gaming consoles will run you anywhere between $250 to $500 – depending on what region of the world you live in. In america, I think the Nintendo Wii starter bundle goes for about $220 and the Playstation 3 for around $300. And those, as well as others, include surreal high definition graphics, mind blowing games and internet downloads and updates.

So the question remains: why in God’s name would someone pay $13,000 for a 22 + year old, ice age console with one controller and 5 original games?

Well, it seems that one of the games included is a rare copy of family fitness stadium events one of the 2,000 ever made in 1986 by the Japanese toy company, Bandai – which ranks 6 out of 20 in the “holy grails of console gaming.”

the eBay seller originally posted the item at $9.99 and within hours the bidding had jumped to over $5,000. By February 10th, it had sold for an astonishing $13,105 to what can only be described as an avid/fanatic gaming collector.

I think this would be a good time for all of us to go attic hunting and see what goldmine could be sitting in an old cardboard box rotting away.

Foods that Fuel Your Sex Drive

Do you want to spice up your sex life?

It’s actually a rhetorical question, because afterall, who doesn’t? unless your genes carry a strand of the bonobo chimp’s, your answer is yes, yes, yes!

It just so happens that all the ingredients you need, can be found at your local market. and with Valentine’s Day right around the corner – a little extra jiggle and wiggle mixed with a bit of oumph will definitely leave you and your partner sizzling hot.

Since the dawn of time, it has been believed that certain foods increase the sexual drive of individuals – and certain others, decrease it. But, we’re not interested in those…

The following foods have been identified (by both scientists and regular horny folks) as being aphrodisiacs that have the power to boost your libido. Although you may already know of some, there are a few others which may just surprise you…and in a big way ;)!

  1. Oysters – the mother of aphrodisiacs. when it comes to oysters, it’s all about the zinc. they contain about 170% of your daily value. Although women benefit from a good dose of vitamins and trace minerals, men have the most to gain from the richness in zinc; an element that is vital for improving sperm count and regulating testosterone levels. But if the idea of slurping gooey oysters turns you off, you can always nibble on some pumpkin seeds or basil to get your fix. So ladies, if you want a tiger in the bedroom, start feeding him zzz…poonfull’s of zinc.

    Not my thing, but sure!

  2. Dark Chocolate – the almighty, yummy mojo. Dark chocolate is known to be rich in antioxidants and high in caffeine; two ingredients that turbo boost the libido and energy. So go ahead and indulge a little…order the darkest chocolate cake on the menu and relish the taste that is nothing less than…well, orgasmic!

    Mmmmmm...

  3. bananas – the key to the ignition. It’s not just their phallic shape – bananas are the ideal food to give you endurance in the bedroom. The healthy doses of potassium and vitamin b help boost the production of sex hormones.

Shapes and tastes I guess ;)

  4. Garlicopen up and say ahhh. garlic opens up blood vessels and increases the flow to the sex organs. a natural viagra if you will. But don’t forget to brush your teeth before you get comfy under the sheets.
  5. Ginger – get your juices going. ginger improves blood flow to your sexual organs and contains vitamin c, zinc and magnesium. Not only does it spice up your food, but it adds a little spice to your sex life as well.
  6. Blueberries – fruity foreplay = fantastic fornication. Blueberries are loaded with soluble fiber which helps remove excess cholesterol. Like Viagra, they’re packed with compounds that help relax your blood vessels to allow for better flow. What this means – more blood to the penis and stronger erections. And if that’s not enough, studies have shown that they increase memory and concentration. Just think…if you consume enough blackberries, you’ll be able to rock her world at night and remember her name in the morning.

    Little blue balls? Hmmm...

  7. Oatmeal – the snap, crackle and pop sex booster. If you didn’t eat breakfast before, this is a good reason to start. because what seems as boring and bland in the morning will leave you fit for action at night. Oats are high in magnesium and selenium, which are important for hormone production and regulation.
  8. Chili Peppers – hot spices = hot sex. Chilies stimulate the nervous system which in turn accentuate the effects of sexual arousal. Basically, the reaction your body gets from eating chili is similar to the one you experience when having sex.

    Hot!

There you have it!

Who would have thought that eating certain nutritional foods would not only leave you with a healthy body but with a healthy sexual appetite as well?!

The Different Profiles of Twitter Users

Whether it’s to promote your work, communicate with like-minded individuals, make some great connections, inform your friends what you had for breakfast (please don’t) or simply follow every move or comment that @apluskPresident Obama, or @copyblogger make, Twitter is the place to do so!

Its’ usage has grown and developed over the last year as it has become the preferred micro-blogging platform for just about everyone – business men and women, celebrities, politicians and of course the general populace.

It appears, however, that different people use the blogging service for different reasons and purposes.

Inspired by Guy Kawasaki’s 6 Types of Twitter Users, @ngonews created this humorous infographic portraying the different profiles of Twitterers.

Are you one of these? If yes, which one?

A Brief History of Everything

this video, made by 17 year old jamie bell, is simply terrific! the flip book, entitled “a brief history of pretty much everything”, was made entirely out of biro pens and took roughly 3 weeks to complete. needless to say that little boy genius earned full marks on his art class project. and if you think that wasn’t enough satisfaction, then you’ll be happy to know that ashton kutcher’s talent radar caught on and he tweeted the video to all of his 4 million plus followers.

The 11 Best Super Bowl Ads of 2010

If you think people watch the Super Bowl just for the game itself…think again!

Besides being the event of the year for millions of ‘gung-ho’, chip dippin’ and drinkin’ football fans, the Super Bowl is also well known and watched for its’ big budget commercials. It’s often referred to as the ‘New Year’s of Advertising’ – at least that’s what we called it when I was back in grad school – not so long ago ;).

Being one of the most watched program on television in the US, it’s only normal that it also be the biggest opportunity for companies to ‘bring it’ – with their newest and greatest ads! It’s during these couple of hours that the most memorable commercials of all times – like the first, ever-so famous and catchy ‘wassup from Budweiser – were born.

Every year, companies dish out millions of dollars for a 30 second spot during the big game; and this year was no different – a whopping 3 million dollars was the going rate for an ad during the Super Bowl XLIV.

Here are nittyGriddy’s picks for some of the top 2010 Super Bowl ads – those that made an impact or caused some kind of a reaction. After all, that’s what advertising is all about!

Cheese Sculptures

Many of us have some sort of hobby that we enjoy – whether building model airplanes, racing cars, knitting, collecting stamps, taking pictures, blogging, whatever…

And some others have rather unusual hobbies or pastimes such as making sculptures out of cheese. Oddly enough, this kind of “art” has grown in popularity the last few years. I’ve actually come across several websites or articles about these talented ‘cheese people’.

As we know, cheese pretty much goes with anything – wine, pasta, meat, vegetables… but I think the mere stench of one of these sculptures would be enough to shut down my sense of smell forever. Although I’m sure the artists are not using roquefort or camembert, working in an environment that smells like feet would not be the hobby I would have chosen for myself. Then again, I can’t sculpt (anything) for shit!

What do you think of these cheese sculptures? Are they art, cool, yummy or just a waste of food? Post your comments.

Forgive Me Fans, For I Was Off!

Shopping Around London 225x300 Forgive Me Fans, For I Was Off!the good thing about running your own blog is – you don’t answer to anyone…i’m my own boss! the not so good thing is – when i go on vacation, i tend to slack off and not update it on a daily basis as i should and usually do! although staying glued to my laptop, updating posts, during my holiday sounds like great fun, i found it much more tempting to walk, eat and shop – pretty much all day long – in funky london town. but alas, all holidays must come to an end – sometimes more quickly than we want them to.

so on that note, i would like to apologize to my readers and subscribers for the last 6 days of inactivity; but the break is over and nittyGriddy is back on track.

Head Humped by Sirocco the Parrot

I understand your leg being humped by a dog – but your head being ‘pucked’ by a parrot? There’s just no words to speak!

It seems that horny little Sirocco the Kakapo [I’ll refrain from making a wise crack here ;)] achieved international fame after trying to mate with zoologist Mark Carwadine’s head on the BBC show, “Last Chance to See.”

Sirocco, one of the 124 Kakapo’s still alive, was named a Conservation Ambassador by New Zealand’s Prime Minister, who stated that the bird’s celebrity status made him the ideal candidate for the role. Actually, his exact words were, “he’s very media-savvy, he’s got a world-wide fan base – they hang on every squawk that comes out of his beak.”

I’m sure this bird has gotten his share of tweets :)!

Watch as carwadine gets shagged by a rare parrot. It’s a definitely a big ‘laugh out loud’ moment – even for Stephen Fry!
