Shoes to Show!

as (m)any women will tell you, shoes are precious…just ask carrie in ‘sex and the city’!

each shoe is like an individual work of art; and that is often why our investment in them is scarily close to just that. from chanel to jimmy choo, louboutin to manolo blahnik, dior to gucci; each pair is worth a little fortune that we are happy to spend.

let me ask you this… what is the first thing you look for in a pair of shoes? comfort? you would think so, but not entirely true. you see, we tell ourselves they’re comfortable or that the leather will eventually stretch and we persuade ourselves to believe the lie because even if it takes half of box of band aids to cover up the blisters on our feet, the important thing is that they look good. scratch that…i mean f…ing good! the fact of the matter is that you can be dressed to kill, but the shoes on your feet are what will make or break you!

now i assume that you are all familiar with the names i mentioned above. but have you heard of andreia chaves? probably not, but you will. the sao paolo native has launched a collection of shoes that revolves around architectural concepts – or so it seems. as funky as they look, as wow as they appear, as extravagant as they are, comfort — just isn’t the first adjective that comes to mind. have a look for yourself.
