SuperPost Sunday – Weekly Roundup #10

dear santa define good mug SuperPost Sunday Weekly Roundup #10Ho ho ho my lovelies,

For those of you that celebrate – MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope you had a joyous time with your families.

I’m hoping that the fat, white-bearded man stuffed your stockings with tons of health and wealth. If not, call 1-800-BEENBAD collect, and have a chat with one of his elves. Those little green gatekeepers have all the reindeer pull you’ll need.

As for me, Santa was awfully generous this year. But then again – he usually is.

I’ve either been especially good or he decided to overlook all my little imperfections and occasional sprees of naughtiness ;). Either way, thank you St. Nick and THANK YOU my wonderful family of amazing elves. I’m truly blessed.

I actually hesitated to publish this week’s SuperPost. Seeing the holiday festivities, I figured that about 4 1/2 people will be reading this. Plus, the roundup – although kick ass – is rather thinner than my usual ones – especially compared to last week’s gigantic collection.

My excuse for the lack of length and wit today is not laziness, but rather a little BIG thing they call CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY :). So, you’re either sighing in disbelief or devastated at the fact that today’s ramblings have been restricted to a bare minimum – either way, oh well ;)!

But in all honesty, I love writing this roundup and therefore decided that regardless of all the pleasant factors, I would publish it anyways cause the articles listed are well worth the read!

And so…

“Without further Christmasy ados, ho hos and blah blahs,” here are this Sunday’s awesome SuperPosts on all things Social Media, Blogging Tips, SEO, Internet Marketing, Traffic Building, Online Money Making Tools and more.

HAPPY READING AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE! WISHING YOU ALL A FANTASTICALLY FESTIVE WEEK AHEAD.

PS: DON’T FORGET TO CHECK BACK TOMORROW FOR A NEW AND COOL INFOGRAPHIC AND THURSDAY FOR MY SPECIAL SOCIAL MEDIA RESOLUTIONS POST :).

Social Media

Is your company’s social media strategy really working? Could it stand for some improvement? Whether you feel that you’ve maxed out the potential of your current social media efforts or you feel like nothing you do is really helping…

Social media is often misrepresented by numbers. Followers, website traffic, Facebook  friends, community members, blog subscribers, etc. all contribute to a self-imposed goal that really yields nothing in return. The numbers that are important…

Albert Einstein has made many amazing contributions to the scientific world, including the theory of relativity, the founding of relativistic cosmology, the prediction of the deflection of light by gravity, the quantum theory of atomic motion…

About six weeks ago, I knew it was time for me to write another article for this blog. I started getting some ideas down on paper and brainstorming like I always do. A week passed. Richard asked me what the status of my article was…

Blogging is like music you need to play several instruments at the same time, and to get a good sound, you must play them with harmony and coherence. You’re the person in charge of the orchestra – the director and your unique style reflects…

This morning, I’m off on a jet plane to San Francisco for a last-minute pitch with my friend and colleague, Merredith. As I zipped over to drop the dogs off for a day of doggie fun and a night of boarding, I poured my car into the glowing pink horizon…

Technology is meant to better human lives. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work out that way; and a perfect case in point is the recent WikiLeaks scandal. I will refrain from debating the legalities and moralities of WikiLeaks as that’s a sensitive issue…

When I was growing up, I was afraid to speak up and barely knew right from left or how to maneuver through the hometown I grew up in. But I was quietly adventurous and used my mind and creativity…

Life — it’s what we do between the time we get here and when we go. We only get one, and despite what other folks might suppose, it’s ours to determine what to do with it. We don’t measure life in hours and minutes. We measure life in memories and moments…

It’s amaging blog post.Thnaks for writing this inspirational stuff.

So Howie, Gera and I made it! Where is the other 1 1/2 person?!

    • http://www.skypulsemedia.com/ Howie at Sky Pulse Media

LOL so we need 1 person and mini-me?

      • http://nittygriddy.com/ Ingrid Abboud

        Howie
        I tally’d up the readers
See my reply to Gini :)
        lol

        • http://spinsucks.com Gini Dietrich

In that case, I count as 5 1/2 by myself. From one of my two laptops at work, from my Mac at home, from my iPad, and from my iPhone. OH WAIT! From Mr. D’s Mac, from his desktop, from his iPad, and what the hell! I’ll go log on from his iPhone. So nine! You have 13 1/2 readers!

          • http://nittygriddy.com/ Ingrid Abboud

I don’t know whether to be sad and cry about that or be happy!

Yay for adoring my blog so much that you want to check if from every technological device from this century to make sure you haven’t missed anything. And waaiiinn (crying baby) for me – for having all 13 and a half readers of this post be 3/4 YOU!

I really hope that other people aren’t trying to follow this conversation. The intellectual level of it is far too superior for just anyone to jump in! haha

      • http://spinsucks.com Gini Dietrich

I am pretty sure YOU don’t count as a reader of your own blog. Google analytics won’t even track your IP address (the same reason I make Mr. D read Spin Sucks from his own computer – gives me 10 readers!). So try again.

        • http://nittygriddy.com/ Ingrid Abboud

Gini why did you have to go and ruin that for me huh?! Why? Why? (please read in hissy/tantrum/screechy type voice!)

Actually – you just gave me an idea – I should start opening my site from my other computers as well! Damn you’re good Gin lol!

          Oh, and did I mention:

          MY BLOG = MY RULES!!!
If I say I count than I count! And if I say I count as 1 1/2 then guess what? I count as 1 1/2 Ha!

          • http://twitter.com/skypulsemedia Howie at Sky Pulse Media

So funny watching you both who get 1,000’s of reads per post argue over 0.5 Readers. 😉

BTW I called Mini-Me and he is going to start reading this blog. Issue solved.

            • http://nittygriddy.com/ Ingrid Abboud

              Hey, I love Mini-Me :)!

Oh and every bit counts! So please if Mini-Me has a Minier-Me – then send him my way as well.
Gini has more readers than I do plus she has Mr. D. So…I win for having less readers! Ha!

        • http://twitter.com/skypulsemedia Howie at Sky Pulse Media

Plus you have the computers on your new party yacht you can also log in and read Spinsucks from.

          • http://nittygriddy.com/ Ingrid Abboud

Huh? Party Yacht? Where and what time? Dress code please!

    • http://nittygriddy.com/ Ingrid Abboud

      Okay Gini,
I can’t believe I have to explain this to you but here goes:

      You + Howie + Gera = 3 people
Me (cause I read it over and over before and after I published it) = 1 person
Me (I’m counting myself again cause after my food fest of a trip I gained a couple pounds so…) 1/2 person
      Therefore Me = 1 1/2 people

      And…
Not everyone who read this left a comment – so I’m adding another 3 people who read but were to lazy or unimpressed to write something.

      Total count is 7 1/2

Damn – How did you and Howie not figure this one out for yourselves?
      Hehehehe 😉

      • http://twitter.com/skypulsemedia Howie at Sky Pulse Media

In the two photos you use I have seen zero difference. So based on my eyes I see zero weight gain and thus you are down to 7 people. But maybe Gini can lend you a niece or nephew?

        • http://nittygriddy.com/ Ingrid Abboud

Those 2 photos were here before I traveled and came back! So I’m counting the 2 – I mean 3 pounds – and raising the 7 back to 7 and a half. Actually – I’m headed to the kitchen now to make it an even 8 lol!

Oooo yes. Gini your nieces and nephews will love this blog. Please make sure they use their own computers – not your same IP okay? haha

Your round ups highlight how important the Subject Line is for articles and email marketing. I can not even fathom how much great stuff we miss because the tag line wasn’t good enough. I loved the Blogging Lessons of Einstein. Did you post that here once before? Of course any title that has Bitch Slap in it will either be completely delightful or absolutely offensive! But I see a Gangsta Rapper didn’t write the post so should be really good.

    • http://nittygriddy.com/ Ingrid Abboud

      Hey Howie,

I think you’re absolutely right regarding the importance of subject lines/titles. It’s funny – I’ve heard so many times that it’s better to have a functional title (ie. boring but strong key words) instead of a creative. And although I’ve tried to do that, I also put myself in the readers position to see what would attract me more. And of course – although functional may be smarter – the creative can be just as powerful to the naked eye (less to Google though lol).

Yikes – did I already include the Einstein one before? Will check. I’m actually writing something of the sort (similar concept but quite different).

As for the Bitch Slap post – Erika is just a fantastic writer – and extremely entertaining at that. Her bitch slaps are a weekly series that she does and I’ve often found myself ROFL :). Not anywhere near a Gangsta Rapper (physically) but the verbal side can pose quite the competition – just in more proper and intelligent form. Definitely read that one and others of hers that you come across.

And of course – read the rest that are here too! They’re limited to 10 this week but they still rock!

      Enjoy
Always great to see your awesome comments here :).

      Cheers

    HI Gera,

Thank you very much. Hope you and your family had a lovely Christmas.

Indeed, the online activity the last few days has been rather thin compared to usual – but like I said – I still wanted to write this week’s post – regardless. I love doing it and find it very useful for others to come by. Plus, they can always go through it a later time – once all the hectic festivities are over and done with.

This list may not be huge but some excellent articles listed here – including yours :).

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Keep up the great work!

Enjoy the rest of the holidays. And hope you have an awesome 2011!

    Cheers
